A sidebar allows the display of a second wiki page adjacent to the requested wiki page. Originally conceived to improve navigation of the wiki by allowing a single page listing links to be displayed, my implementation allows any wiki page content to be displayed in the sidebar and up to one sidebar page per namespace.

The template is a better implementation of the sidebar and much the easiest to install. I strongly recommend you upgrade to the most recent version of Dokuwiki to take advantage of templates and the new faster parser
